Arnault was born in France, Roubaix on the 5th of March, 1949. He was born into an influential industrial family. He studied the field of Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique which is situated in Paris. Later on, he started his career at his family’s construction company – Ferret Savinel.

He continued acquiring luxury brands like La Samaritaine, Fendi, Bulgari, and Tiffany & Co.He also built the Fondation Louis Vuitton, which is a form of contemporary art museum in Paris. It was designed by the American-Canadian architect Frank Gehry. In the year of 2007, Arnault was named the highest distinction in France “Commander Of The Legion Of Honour”.
